Hi guys, really hoping you can help me here.

I've looked but can't find an answer to my problem.

When I wire up a piezo to a volume pot I get a buzz whenever the volume is around half way up,around 4 to 5

but when I turn it up full to 10 the buzzing just disappears, you would of thought that any buzzzing

would get louder the more you turned the volume.

I've tried 3 pots and 3 pickups on 2 different amps, same problem with all them, checked and double check the wiring diagrams and all solder joints...HELP!! please it's driving me mad!!

  • there a few thing if you a three post 1/4 in. plugin you could have wires connect wrong, or you could glue some tin foil on that connect your 1/4 plug and your volume pot. you may also either silcone your piezo or glue it between two thin pices of hard wood

  • thanks for the reply. Ive been using a 500 pot but no capacitor, ive always used tone capacitors on the tone.  should i be puting one on the volume?  I'd really appciate any more help you could offer

    thanks

  • What size capacitor are you using? If you are not using one you might want to try a 500ohm in the circuit. I had tha problem once and it turned out to be a bad pot. It was either bad to begin with or I got it to hot when soldering.
