Donny: Good ideas. I have a few contacts in the Columbus area that may be a possibility. I'll check it out and get back to you sometime next week.

Ah- excellent question. I've never organized a festival before but I do know it would take a few of us bumping our heads together to bounce around some ideas. My first thought would be to decide on a local that's fairly central. As for a first year location (once a city is decided on).... maybe a cigar shop parking lot? Hopefully it would grow to where we would need a bigger location in the future. Do some "grass roots" marketing to get the word out, hopefully attract a few vendors for food/drinks and whatever else we can think of. Seek out some sponsors if we draw enough public intrest. Some kids activities/workshops (to build diddly bo's, and canjos...) And maybe have some people actually playing (except me- all I can do is make noise right now). And, I'd shoot for early fall when it starts to cool down a bit- it would give us some time to put it all together....
Donny: Perhaps your idea could work. What next?
Greetings all,
I don't think I have introduced myself yet but I have been a member of the forum for a bit now. I think I have seen this posted a while back, but has any one tried to coordinate any kind of festival or something? Maybe not just CBG fest, but broaden it out to a home-made instrument type of fest?
And greetings Jim- I live in Dublin and my work office (when I am there) is off of East Broad, down a bit from the hospital.
Hi,
I am Jim from Gahanna, OH. Been addicted to CBG building for about 6 months Have built 3 can guitars and 3 CB guitars along with 3 amps. Been great fum, giving them to my kids/ grandson.
Anyone from central Ohio here?
Hi all, I'm Jason. My friends call me Zap. I live in the New Philly/Canton area and am enjoying building and my playing my CBG's. I got into CBG's, homemade amps and pedals just in the last year. I build vintage Brit bikes, pinball machines, jukebox's, and hot rods as well. If anyone gets in the area feel free to drop me a line.
Hello Ohio Boxheads
