I recently got into building & playing CBG's as a boatbuilder i am always looking for good timber & never pass a skip without having a good look!
Been having a clear out in my workshop today & found my old JVC MF33 music center, i got it out of a skip about 30 years ago & used to have it in my old workshop & it hadnt run for years, It is probably 70's vintage, I was going to finally throw it away but I was wondering if it could be converted into an amp but then noticed it already has input sockets for mono & mic, i plugged the CBG straight in & it works.
Much to my surprise the sound is superb, clean between low & mid volume then rapidly dirtier as you push it. Its driving two big speakers at 30w a channel. Good job the workshop is soundproofed!
Got two CBG's nearly finished, a baritone with the neck cut out of a mahogany handrail from a demolished victotian department store. Second one has a pitch pine neck from an old water tank.
Good fun!
