Blinds

We had a people use old blinds as a fret guard to shape and polish frets. Great ideas!!! I found other great uses

for wooden blinds. I was given a set of thin wooden blinds- almost a 16th of an inch and just over 2" wide. Here's a few ideas- some I've already used in my builds:

Jack plates - cut a square piece off and drill a hole in the middle. 4 small screws on the corners keeps it in place. This is a great solution if you ever want to change or do repairs and don't want to rip your box apart.

The blinds that were given to me are also quite wide - nice enough to use as a thin fretboard or headstock veneer. Got a 6 pole piece pickup for a 3 or 4 string? Cover the polepieces with a niceley cut piece of this stuff! I am also using them to shim my bridges when the action is just a little low.

I also believe these pieces could also be bent to make sides of an intrument. Ohhhhh the possibilites! I'm sure there are people or stores that you can think of that are just throwing this stuff away!
