Hi Cigar Box Nation! A quick intro...
...I'm Simon Pearce, an Englishman now living in sunny Florida. When my old dad retired this year I bought him a CBGitty kit so he could sit on his back porch out in wild Florida. Well I guess that got me thinking. I consider myself "handy" and have built all sorts in the past including a wooden boat so I figured why not have a go at a Ciggie Gitty. I have played regular guitar for a few years and have always had a bluesey kink. So in the true spirit of the Cigar Box Nation, there I was walking my old pal Duke the black Labra-mutt when what did I find laying in the grass at the side of the road? A discarded. but perfect Cohiba cigar box. I figured this was an omen so off home me and Duke went and after some cuttin and drilling and fixing we turned up our first gitty. I'll upload some pics to the site in a few. Anyway the intro dragged on so I will just finish by saying thanks to the many postings on this site that helped my first gitty come into being and especially a big thanks to Uncle Crow and his videos.
