Greetings All. I am a 61 year old who has noodled on 6 strings and just learned about cigar box guitars. I am ready to learn from all of you and one day I hope to pass on your wisdom to others. Jim

Paul... you need to return. Lake Okeechobee has not changed much but you would recognize your other summer retreats.

Ah yes, Lake Okeechobee on summer evening. It certainly creates a unique tang in the air lol. I lived in Florida for ten years back in the 80's and early 90's.
Hi Jim, greetings back at you from The Netherlands. I'm also new to this game. Been at it since October of last year. I wish I'd discovered the 3 string CBG years ago. It's an absolute blast. I'm in the process of making a new tin box 3 string CBG from a Jack Daniels 150 year commemorative box. I'm really enjoying this too. I'm electrifying it with a Snake Oil mini humbucker pickup. I've a red oak neck that's nicely scarf jointed and ready for finishing. I need to ebonize the fret board before setting the frets. It's then a question of putting it all together. I'm really looking forward to playing this thing. The wife thinks I'm nuts.

Welcome Jim!
Welcome. Spent my summers in Florida when I was a kid in Orlando, Miami, FT. Lauderdale, Daytona and Lake Okeechobee.
