Hey everyone,
Even thought joined cba a while I am a fairly recent convert to building and I must admit I am hooked.
I bought a cbg on eBay a few years back but at the time never thought I would build something myself as my DIY skills have never been great. However when I saw the post last year on how to make a lap steel from a piece of 4x2 I thought even I could do that and a few weeks later I had knocked out my first build using a fence post blue gum decking timber, threaded rods, cupboard handles, picture hooks, drilled out grub screws as ferrules and flattened out corrugated iron cavity cover. I bought a pick up and used other bits and pieces from an old cheap Yamaha guitar I had.
Since then In the last six months I have knocked out 5 more builds. I am axed that I can do and while there are errors and some frustrations along the way each one has its unique sound and character and my playing has improved dramatically.
Anyway here are my beasts all lined up. I have my first didley bow under construction and I have a new project design started for a resonator.
Happy days!
Nigel
Looks like you are having fun. Nice builds, welcome to the Nation Nigel. Once you start building it's hard to quit. I think you may have figured that out.
