My name is Graeme and I`m a 63 year old living in Cheshire, England. I retired in 2011 after 38 years teaching. My diverse musical tastes are Synester Gates, Zakk Wilde, BB King and Bessie Smith.
Its Dec. 18th and as a newcomer I`ve been reading about the "Famous Monsters Challenge." It might be a bit (or a lot) "late in the day" to start my first ever cigar box guitar (and enter it for the competition) but I`m going to have a go in my "Cave of Wonderment" (the garage)!!! Research on your site is rapidly gathering momentum. My wife is looking at me in despair, but as a lifelong workshop tinkerer and non-musician (as yet), my guitar playing so will hopefully guide me through any problem technical bits (after he stops laughing!)
Merry Christmas to one and all.
Graeme

Hi Graeme and welcome to the addiction. I too am a newbie with three finished projects occupying positions of prominence in our living room. I share a love of blues music, creating things in my modest shop, and being a retired educator. I taught American History & Political Science for 30 years.
Hi Larry,
Many thanks for your welcome. I used to teach Product Design (Woodwork, Metalwork and Plastics) in a large 1,800 pupil school (girls and boys) aged 11 to 18 year olds. My Adult Education classes on Copper and Silversmithing (night school) were aged 19 to 93 the oldest). I`m looking forward to not being curriculum lead and just being creative and "having a go" with cigar box guitars, and letting my guitar playing son test them. My facilities now are extremely modest.
All the best Larry
Graeme
