Heya, I'm Pauly from Australia

Hi Everyone, I've been looking around the Nation for the last couple weeks after coming across it looking up how to fix my daughters guitar. A lot of cool and interesting idea here. I've started making my first one. Very slow going just using what I have when I have time and am really it so far. Looking forward to learning to play it when I'm done. Looking forward to getting to know some of you as time goes on and I ask my question. Cheers Pauly

    • I'm up in Darwin.

One of the first things I did was join the Aussie group. I've learnt a bit about the woods we have available here from reading through it. I'm working on a through neck using some garden stakes that I think might be jarrah. Not sure though.

I'll put up some pics when I get a chance
  • Welcome Pauly, you have a lot of local Ausies handy. Seems like a lot of down unders building. Have fun.
  • Welcome Pauly.

  • Good to have you here Pauley. It is good to know folks half way around the world from me that shares the same craziness---errrr,I mean hobby. There are a bunch of people on your Continent running around playing cigar boxes. Look at the membership roster you may be living within a reasonable distance of another like minded individual. Cheers!

  • Welcome to the Nation, Pauly.  Be prepared, once you build the first one, more will follow.  You can quit whenever you want, but the lure of that "special" build will keep you coming back.  Have fun, there are lots of boxes (biscuit tins and bean cans are fun too) out there to fuel the passion.

    • Already have some thoughts for a couple more
  • G'day Pauly.

I'm pretty new round here as well. I came across CBN after thinking I could make something better than the cheap "toy" guitar I bought over christmas to learn on.

I've completed on every quick and rough build but now I'm refining it on my second one and taking a little more time.

I just need to learn to play.

Have fun and looking forward to seeing your first build.

    Nick
