I'm Grant from Galloway Ohio which is a rural area just outside of Columbus or as I like to call it the capitol cow town lol, I've had a burning love of music for as long as I can remember especially the iconic stuff from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. I grew up listening to classic country and rock, got into metal as a teen in the mid-late 80's but as an adult I've started to get back to my country roots. Considering that my Dad's side is all from West Virginia and my Mom's from WV and Portsmouth, Ohio I guess it was inevitable lol. I just recently in the last month discovered the cigar box. I was at a big name guitar store getting new strings for my off brand strat style when I seen the Chinese blues box guitar for $34.99, I was curious so I started searching videos on you tube which led me to Shane and C.B. Gitty vids. I fell in love with the old time sound and not wanting to spend alot just to see if I could get the hang of it, I went ahead got the Chinese slide. For the price my expectations were not high for that working "wall decor" I mean it was ok at first but the more I watched a ton of different artists who are phenomenal play their CBG's the more I want to reach that level myself (or at least as close as possible anyway lol) but one thing I knew was that little thing wasn't gonna cut it. So I just finished my first build with the CBGitty DIY fretted kit for $74.99 of course I bought the essential players pack and the 4 band EQ to install into based on Mr. Speal's recommendation in a vid I watched (epic failure on the install had to take it out and repair the box but that's a discussion for another group lol)
Anyway I successfully repaired the box to be usable and finished it on 4-15-18. I love it and have learned may valuable lessons in that first build namely I need better tools for precision cuts lol. In closing I'd just like to thank the nation for accepting my app and allowing me to be apart of this community of dedicated crafters and CBG addicts. Now I just need to come up with one of those cool stage/nick names cause Larry Grant Curnutte Jr. just don't flow off the tongue lol btw since 99% of the population can't say it right, Curnutte is pronounced Ker-Newt. Thanks again and looking fwd to great times with the community.

Welcome to the revolution, Newt. From the south side of Columbus.
Thanks man, far west side here like literally I'm only about 2.5 miles from the Franklin/Madison County line I can be in West Jeff in like 6 mins lol
Hey Newt, good to see you! You're going to like this place a lot, of course you already have.
LOL thanks, it's kinda funny you called me Newt cause that's what one of my best friend's and his dad always called me and that's been about 20 years ago lol.
