As an introduction, I'm a techy from the Vancouver area with some DIY skills who hacks on some guitar, bass, and banjo. Definitely more of a player than a builder.
My first exposure to the CBG world was catching Sea Sick Steve on the BBC late one night recently. I was struck by the sounds he made with just 3 strings.
It kind-of haunted me until I googled 3 string guitars and the door opened.
I immediately tracked down some cigar boxes and some oak strips to begin my own build but between the kids, the house and work, I'm just not going to get one built soon enough and the truth is I just want to play one.
So I just bought one on eBay and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
One day I'm sure I'll try to build one myself but I see so many beautiful instruments already built by people with more skill than me, it might be a while.
This looks like a great community and I'm looking forward to 'meeting' others who are into this cool instrument.
