New guy from Albany NY.
Where to start. I’m 62 yes old, never played an instrument other than really basic harmonica many years ago, but I’ve always been interested in building things myself. I’ve built lots of things ranging from buildings and boats, to R/C airplanes and gun parts, including precision machine work. Then I lost most of my vision. I’m legally blind, but function ok using my remaining vision and my guide dog.
My son Ben, a 24 yr old medical student, is the musician. He plays guitar and clarinet and keyboards. So when he showed me a video of a slide bass made out of a shovel, I decided to build him a three string fretless CBG to play around with. Meanwhile, I had so much fun with that, I decided to build a paint can resonator kit after watching Shane’s video. I also figured if I was gonna learn to play, I wanted an amp, so I built the amp, and I’m waiting on resolution of a parts mix up to get the next build going.
