I use CB Frets. 

Sounds similar to Fret Finder. I have access to a plotter, so I use CB Frets to print out an entire page full of fret templates at once. No cutting and taping required.

Hi Bobby....I use Fret Finder.  It prints our a PDF file that you cut on the registry lines and tape together, lay on the fret board and make your marks. Very simple and accurate....I have compared them to many real guitars, ukuleles and banjos and they match up perfectly.  Give it a try.

Lost again,

I have been reading and studying and I am still lost.I am making a couple strum sticks. Thanks,things are going fine up to now.The trouble got started when I want to mark the frets.I went direct to Stewmac and put in my digits.I got numbers that just don't seem like they can work. I have an old dulcimer that is 27.5 inches scale the first fret is 75mm to first fret, I want to make a scale that is 25.5.Stewmac says that the first fret should be 2.728 and number two at 5.157. I know that I an doing something wrong I just  do not know what.

I want it to fret like a lap dulcimer.

Please some one show me the light.

Thanks for the advice and inspiration. I have completed my first mountain dulcimer and am loving it. Spent some time learning to play it last night and I'm very happy with the acoustic tone and sustain though the volume could be better. She and I had a couple of moments last night !

This was suppose to be another cigar box dulcimer but the maple neck was slightly bowed. I didnt want to throw it out so I attached to the teardrop shaped oak. That problem was fixed . of course now I lost  some sound  and tone. i'[ll  probably put a piezo in it next.
