Pre-made necks?

I'm just wondering if anyone sells pre-made necks for cbg that are already fretted and ready to go at a decent price? I want to build my first cbg, and I feel pretty confident about most of what needs to be done. But I'd rather not mess with building a neck the first time around.

  • Actually, funny enough, I just got one of these in the mail. It's pretty nice. The wood is very pretty. However, I was a bit disappointed that there are several gouges in the fret board that weren't described in the auction. Hopefully they'll sand out ok. I also bought another one from Ebay from a different person. Waiting for that to arrive now. It'll be interesting to see the difference in quality.

  • I'm with David S. There is nothing to be scared of! I've seen girls with absolutely no wood working experience build some sweet necks! I'm just mentioning 'girls' because they "usually" don't have the tool experience guys do in general. So no offense meant toward the ladies on here... Just covering my butt. :~))
  • Go to our friend here: tinyguitars.tk   He usually has necks around.
  • Start with a fretless, Ethan. The neck is most of the fun, and you'll build more. You can always go with frets in one of your later builds.
