I've been building these on and off for about year, always on the cheap and pretty basic. I'm a city kid with very little cash to spend on tools and I know very little about good tools anyway, so most of my work has been done with a steak knife and a hack saw. Lately I've taken up a slightly more ambitious project involving one of those cheesey old school hubcaps that just pops on in the wheel that I'm hoping to turn into a neat little resonator. I think it's either aluminum or stainless steel. Obviously, my trusty steak knife won't be able to handle this sort of job, and I'm wondering if theres a good hand tool I could invest in that would be better suited to cutting through metals. Big large electric things are a bit out of the question due to space and money, but a smaller electric tool, or even if theres a sort of tough handsaw available (I don't mind breaking a sweat for a few hours) that would get the job done.
Probably not, but if anyone knows anything please don't hesitate to help.

Thanks a bunch guys, I'll definitely be picking up a dremel and some attatchments with this month's pay check. I'll throw some pics up when I finish this bad boy too, if I don't manage to mess it up too horribly it should wind up looking pretty sweet.
A jig saw will work with a metal cutting blade , but like surffrogg said a Dremel is one of the best tools to get with all the attachments that can be added ,you can sand , cut , drill . I use mine often.. Check the pawn shops for used ones .
