Newbie here, just built my first fretted CBG and had an issue with a rattle that I couldn't locate, This went on for over a week, sounded like it was at the bridge so I tried several different materials and positions.Applied pressure to the box and neck in every spot you could think of. Finally after researching many discussion boards here I decided the problem had to be with my tuners.(The tuners I used came in a kit and were cheaply made). So I ordered some better tuners from CB Gitty.TUNERS, Long story short fixed my problem. I won't make that mistake again.
Thankful that there is a resource such as CBN!

Rattles are always a pain in the behind to find... Glad you worked it out!
Thanks John, I was ready to throw my box away and start from scratch, glad I didn't give up.
Welcome to the addiction, Jeff, and glad that you got the problem sorted. I have to say I think I've been lucky with the cheap tuners I've been using but your lesson is one that I'll definitely take on board. I've just finished my first six string build and it's also my first build with a magnetic pickup. Really enjoying it but I think I might be getting addicted to building and playing. Hey welcome on board with CBN too. The more the merrier and you're most welcome. I look forward to hearing/seeing you play.
Best regards.
Bear.
Thanks Bear, yea I'm getting the fever too. I've been a player for years and was looking for something different to rekindle my interest in playing music and BAM here it is. I look forward to gaining knowledge from you and others.
Thanks again
Jeff
