Sound hole thing

I'm looking for a specific part, and I don't know its name.

So you've got your sound hole, and then you've got a metal ring that goes round the edges...what is that metal bit?

I know on a small hole its a grommet, but when I searched for say a 1-2 inch version I got nothing! Is there a different name for the bigger ones? Does anybody know where I can get hold of some in the UK?

Holly I make my own. It depends on how DIY you want to go. The top of a gator aid bottle makes a great size or a 16 oz Dr. Pepper bottle ( or coke or soda or whatever) you need the top of the bottle some screen and some metal duct tape. Here are both sizes. They look ok I think. I wish I had thought of this. I found the tutorial on YouTube. If you search "how to make a sound hole cover" in the search on YouTube you should see it there. Hope this helps.

Hi Holly, try a draper and ask for curtain grommets. Alternatively, ebay has gazillions of them: Curtain Grommets on ebay.co.uk. I hope this helps.
