Well, after alot of searching for info and working most of the kinks out. I finaly got it done. The Neck is made of white oak with a Southern Iowa Walnut fretboard. Abalone fretmarkers and white side dots. Ivory (Real) Nut & Bridge. The Box is real old made of Wavy or Curly Red Cedar (15 cent cigars). So,.. Yes she's OLD. She's tuned to open G. The only "Kink" I have to work out yet is that the 6th Fret is a little high. But I think I will let her rest for a month or so and see if the neck will bend forward a tiny bit, and that might make a world of difference.
Hope you all enjoy this one and if you have any comments or questions feel free to ask. One things for sure,.....I'M HOOKED ON BUILDING THESE....LOL

One other thing on that 6th fret. Make sure it is seated all the way down and that the saw kerf is deep enough.
After I drive the frets in, I check them by trying to insert the shart edge of a utility knifeblade under the frets. If the blade goes in I need to do some adjusting.
Nice. You can carefully file down that 6th fret. Shouldn't be that big a deal. Use a metal straight edge, like a square to check the height of the 6th vs the 5th and 7th. See if the square "rocks" when placed on the frets. If you file the fret, crown it rather than leaving it flat on top.
Awesome work..nice job !..bet your making another one
