I have a desire to build a CBG using a licence plate and a piezo pickup. Should the pickup be in contact with the plate, similar to my cigar box builds? Or could I recess it into the neck?

Since I ended up with the bridge spanning over the characters on the plate rather than a flat surface, the rod is imbedded between the bridge and saddle. Getting ready for another build soon using a pie tin for a resonator, hoping to have the piezo directly touching the metal on that one.
Did you recess the rod into the bridge or simply mounted it onto the plate internally?
I built mine with a piezo rod and placed it under the bridge. I'd certainly recommend having it touching the plate if possible.
