Per my previous post, I'm soon starting my first CBG build. It's the full kit, box, hardware, fretted neck, etc.I 've started studying the instructions and find I have a situation not covered in the instructions.
The box is wood, (Macanudo) not paper covered, and the lid (flush closing) is rather thick, about 1/4". If instructions are followed, that is, the notches are cut to a depth where the neck is flush with the box edge, the lid is taller than the fretboard,
If possible, I'd like to bob the but end to flush (hardtail style?) but not sure if that can be done.
I plan to put a thinline humbucker pup so no lid cutout to make it simple. I'll post pix later, but this has me confused...

Email nick at cbgitty, he’ll walk you through it?
Cool. Thx. This is the kind of box...
I emailed cbgitty last night, waiting for a reply. But that hasn't stopped the squirrel from running on the wheel.
I think ...I'm not sure...the way to fix it is to 1. Bob the butt end so that it does not exit the box on the butt end, 2. Thin the internal part of the neck on the fretboard side to raise the fretboard above the level of the fretboard (how much I do not know yet) and make sure there is 'vibrating room' between the neck and lid,, 3. Use internal pillars to support the neck, 4. If needed, add mat'l under the neck for extra support, 5. Use hardtail bridge, making sure it aligns with the mark on the neck, if that was lost in the cut, then measure scale from the zero fret.
BTW, I am new to zero frets but am really liking them. I am not good at making nuts.
