First cigar Box

Ive nearly finished my first cigar box...was great fun...even fretting...I used a Pyrograph to decorate and various bits from Habdashery and tips from the web...I have a Ju Ju 3 string pickup on order...this one is 25 inches from nut to bridge..i think a smalled distance next time...Also I have nickel wound strings but using a bottle neck is so SKREEETCHY...how can I get over that..i hate that squeak you hear on live recordings...the pick up a electro magnetic so I suppose gut strings wont work...

  • Thanks...I make coaches for garden railways and sculpt figures too

    • Makes sense. I think a lot of us would be pleased to match your artwork.
  • WOW! That's one heckuva first build. You're obviously a very skilled craftsman.
If you lay your finger lightly across the strings behind your slide it usually damp out the screechy noise.
  • good looking first build. If you dont like the screech from the strings try using flatwound strings they are smooth..all the best BB

    • Thanks BB...ill give them a try
