Jess' advice is the place to start, especially if the buzz occurs when the string is played open. If it happens when fretted next place to look is at checking the fret height on the fret in front of the one being played. And it may not be the whole fret that is off, could be just a high spot or unlevel installation where the fret isn't seated properly.
There are several possible causes. You may want to check the string depression on the nut and saddle to make sure the string is not moving around when plucked. If the slot is too large, the string will buzz. Also, check the lid on the box to make sure it is not rattling against the body, when the string is plucked. God luck.
