- What is a good source for boxes? I see them on eBay, but I'm concerned it might be hit-or-miss. I live a few blocks from a beer & cigar distributor (great combination, right?) but I'm not keen on buying a whole box of Macanudos just to get the container.
- I see neck-through-body designs and necks that stop at the body with a heel similar to guitars...I assume for a first build the neck-through-body would be easier to work with.

SHANE - thanks for your offer to let me test drive your CBGs. If we don't get together this week I'll catch up with you at First Cap on a Wednesday (I'll bring my mandolin). BTW...I'm listening to Surreal 2 now at work; great tunes!

Dave has a good point I'll agree the through the box neck is easier. There are plans here for the bolt on neck. I guess it is up to what you are comfortable with assembling.
And to search through; sometimes you might have to sift through discussions to find what you want to know. Just about every question has been asked. Post a pic when your done, have fun with it.
Also, if you show up at the open mic (or even at my gig tomorrow at Blue Moon Cafe), you can hold, play and check out my collection of CBGs. I'll have my beat-to-hell Macanudo with me, too...and it's a great 'first time' type of build.

As one novice to another, I can say that the neck through body construction is much easier to do, you don't need elaborate internal bracing the other method may require.
As for a source of boxes, get 'em where you can I guess.
