Altoid Git Building Plan--what's the best?

I've started to get interested in building a git with an Altoid tin.  I saw them online a long time ago, and I heard a guy play one at a blues fest.  Really cool!

One I saw used a piezo, and something about a bottle cap on the piezo.

Anyway, what's the best building plan out there for an Altoid tin git?

I'm not sure exactly what kind of git I would want to build: a single-string diddley bow? a one or two-string with dulcimer-style diatonic fretting?

I'm just wondering what more experienced builders think is the best plan.  I want it to be something that's not only cool to build and show off, but also sounds good.

Thanks!

  • It comes down to what do you want to play?

Check WayFinder's gallery... he has a video or two of his altoid tin build... if I recall he had one with both a mag pup and a piezo...

For a simple build, a piezo works pretty well...
    • Well, I love old-time down-home pre-war country blues, so I would be playing that.  I would also play along in jams to whatever folk, country or blues is up at the moment.

      I'll check out WayFinder.  Thanks!
