I recentlY decided I would like a anther reso cb uke and then changed my mind and decided on a 22"cbg.A friend of mine cut and shape the neck for me and another guy of the nation offered to put it together for me,who I can't thank enough.I recently ordered a resso cone set from chicken bone john and on reciept of this my son talked me in to giving it to him for a prodject he's doing,so I have had to order another one now I am thinking I have done most of my learning from blues finger picking vids with a uke on you tube my question is can I tune my 22" scale length to ukulele tuning GCEA dummy Mal (Hull)

Hi Mel....As you probably noticed it isn't 4D3A2B1E it is DGBE, so the 3rd string which is now the 1st string is tuned up from G to A. Sorry about that mistake.....Will
Hay Mal, I just made a 22" SL uke about a month ago (I only play uke and that very bad). I saw on an internet video how to tune a Baritone uke to GCEA, so I used the 1st four strings from a classic guitar set (3 nylon & 1 wound). Installed them in the order as instructed on the video, from top to bottom: 4D, 2B, 1E, 3A, and tuned it up to the correct guitar notes to let them settle in. I then tuned the now 4D up to G, the 3B up to C and kept the 2E and 1A the same. This way of tuning, instead of the 4G being high like on a regular uke, the 1A is low. This makes it sound a little less like a uke and a little more like a guitar. I put a piezo in it and it sounds great. I am going to play it at our 1st every Sacramento CBG Get-to-Gether this Sunday. Good luck with it!
