guitar strings

Have any of you guys fitted metal guitar stringd to a CBUke? I was thinking of making one using a humbucker, what do you guys recon.Whay gauge strings should be used Mal(UK)

    yes, I play blues. I play solo with foot percussion. I usually play slide  style

     on 4 string cigar box instruments and I also play an electric cigar box baritone ukulele that can be strummed or fingerpicked. I've just begun to experiment with a loop pedal. I'm sorry to say that I don't know stove pipe or their work.

    I used steel ukulele strings on a tenor sized ukulele and they worked well. I use steel strings on my solid bodied 8 string baritone ukulele..

    I'm sorry, but I cannot remember the size of the strings used as it was quite a long time ago, The baritone strings are 11 gauge.
