Here is a tab generator I made up using Excel. It is made for a three string tuned DAD. You need to know the musical notes, as from sheet music. Input the note. the generator output the string and fret.
Sorry folks but you are on your own for rythym.

I will take a look at doing some sort of mod to the spreadsheet for other tunings. Most likely wont get to it until after the New Year.
In the mean time have a Merry Christmas.
A GDg Spreadsheet?
I realize this is a very old thread, and there are probably programs that do this now much better, but I took the liberty to convert the original spreadsheet (or tried) by Yankee Dog to a GDg tuning. I say 'tried' because I am VERY new to this and music theory (self teaching myself), so I am looking for anyone more familiar with both CBGs and Music Theory to confirm that I made all the appropriate matches. Like the original, use the letter "O" to designate the note location on the sheet music to get the corresponding (hopefully) Tab below it.
The measure may look strange, but I am working on a way to do something with; full, half, quarter, etc. notes with it. And hopefully, sharp and flat notes eventually.
Feedback would be appreciated!

Not sure where the file went... Attempting again...
GDG v1 Tabulator.xlsx
I was looking for GDG and ADF#. The program makes sense and works really well.
Unfortunetly it is only set up for DAD tuning. I will have to take a look at making it adjustable. What tuning are you interested in.
As for the matrix at the top. it is only there to illustrate the relationship of your strings to the musical notes.
Sharps and flats have to be done manually. Any time you have a sharp, jump up one fret. drop down a fret for a flat. for example a Bb on the bottom string is fret 8. An F# is fret 4.
Make sense????
Hi Yankee Dog,
Thanks for putting together the tab generator for those of us are challanged by reading music. I haven't spent a lot of time playing with it yet but it looks good. I do have one question. Do I change what I assume are the fret numbers in the matrix at the top to change the tuning? Also, (ok, two questions) is there a way to include sharps?
Thanks
