Making A amp, need some help !

I have a chip audio amp that came out of a cd player, that I would like to use to make a cbg amp with.
I was wondering if any one knows any thing about it, it is  a KA2206B stereo audio amp I have a tec spec sheet on it but I really don't know how to or what other components i need so if anyone has any info it would be appreciated .
I do have electronics back ground just not engenearing lol

  • Jimbo, check out page 4 of your datasheet. It shows a typical setup. If you just want a mono amp, you only need one side of the IC. Use pins 1,7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

    The parts look pretty simple: 100uF electrolytic cap (2), 470uF Elec. cap (2), 470uF elec. cap, .15uF ceramic cap, at least a 3 watt speaker. The aps need to be a 16 volt minimum rating. On your input, use a 1M pot to control the volume. This will probably be a very clean sounding amp, but you might be able to use a buffer/boost circuit to get some distortion.

    If you have a solderless breadboard, it would be best to sit and tinker with this a little. Most Integrated circuits in dvd and vhs players are Hi-Fi, and it takes some tweaking to get a good sounding musical tone from them.
