I'm coordinating an event in a couple of weeks as part of a local festival. A few folks from my church and I are going to host a workshop - building CBG's on the spot. We're going to donate the proceeds to "Ukuleles For Peace", (Paul Moore's wonderful nonprofit group) that brings Israeli and Palestinian kids together: ukulelesforpeace.com
If any of you have a few spare cigar boxes, scavenged guitar tuners or strings kicking around the shop that you'd like to send me . . . it would be very much appreciated, and a great way that you could contribute to a worthwhile cause.
Thanks in advance,

If you're not familiar with Paul Moore's efforts Ukulele's For Peace you really should give it a look. His nonprofit organization engages youngsters in Israeli Palestine - both Arab and Jewish kids, alike. They come together, he teaches them to play the ukulele. Then they have concerts and conduct other activities together.
Imagine the effect of parents and other family members from both sides coming together and finding this common ground in these wonderful cross-cultural events. It's a brilliant idea, and a great way to promote peace and understanding between these peoples - completely at the grassroots level.
AND best of all, it's about the joy of homemade music. This is right up our alley, folks! I really thought 'the Nation' would jump at the chance to do some good and help adopt this cause.
Here's a really EASY way to do just that. and all you gotta do is donate some excess building scraps . . . A couple of extra cigar boxes, tuners or maybe a couple of strings would assist our group's building workshop festival. We're going to donate the proceeds to UFP.
Help a brother help out!
thanks!

We'll put 'em to good use. I have also been able to score some boxes from a reformed cigar box -purse- builder. (the bane of all cbgers).
