I want to try Gitty's Vibrato tail piece

but there are a few things I hope y'all can help me sort out first...cranking on the tremolo arm will cause the strings to saw across the bridge, either wearing out the strings or grinding the string grooves deeper, or dragging a floating bridge out on intonation.

A tune-o-matic bridge with rollers for the saddles solves that, but it has to be screwed into the face of the guitar, implying you have one shot to get it in the right place where the small bit of available adjustment is enough to get the intonation correct.

So what have y'all done with tune-o-matic type bridges and how did you figure out placement?
