Napolian Strickland, was a fife and drum blues artist, and songwriter, and vocalist specializing in country blues, specifically North Mississippi hill country blues. He also played guitar, drums, harmonica, fife, and all manner of percussion instruments.

Here his is with his one-string diddley bow he had permanently mounted inside his house.

  • Where would we be if Alan Lomax didn’t travel amidst the deltas & plantations? I particularly like the recordings of Mississippi Fred McDowell & Muddy Waters when he was playing acoustic blues. He also has some great performances from RL Burnside from 1978.these videos are awesome!!
