I have been wanting to make a Uke. I found this box and it screams ukulele to me. It measures about 9 1/2" x 6 1/2"x1 3/8". Is that big enough, I'm mainly worried about the depth? I have a couple plans I got off the internet and they call for a deeper box. Wish there was a way to get the label off the inside of the lid in tack, I'm in love with this girl!
I've been looling at your ukes and very nice they are. I am thinking maybe doing it like you did Papa's Box's Tenor Uke
Looks nice and won't have to cut the label/
Thanks.

I've built a couple cigar box ukes and I just trim the bottom of the neck to match the thickness of the box. That is a very nick box . I suggest keeping the label as the top of the uke. Check out my Ukes on my page. AD

That's plenty deep, although might be structurally problematic if you wanted to do a Papa's Boxes uke kit for example - it needs some depth for the neck block. But a neck-through design will work.
If you wan the label on the outside of the top, just remove the lid, flip it over and put it back on.
