I've built several two and the string guitars now. They are all electric. Some use a rod piezo and some a disc piezo asunder the bridge as a pickup. For some reason, the low E string on all of them is touchy to tune with an electronic tuner (I have three different tuners).
The jump from D to Db to E. As I let them ring long, they Strabane a bit, but for the first 25%of the note they won't tune. The next two strings tune fine (Dad in this case).
Any thoughts on how to correct this or if it's normal?
Thanks,
Joel

I'm an Android user, and I have the Pano Tuner app (also on iOS).
That just gave me an idea though. Maybe I'll try piping it through my effects pedal and then into the tuner. That would give me tuning with the exact effects anyway. I'll give it a shot.
I had this very problem but with my high g string (highest pitch lowest position) with a clip on tuner. I began using my iPhone and the guitar tuna App and created a custom tuner and it works far better. Ymmv but it worked for me.
