Just finished my latest project, a baritone ukulele steel string resonator. Used geared tuners but never considered the height of the post which reduces the string angle. When I change strings I will try to wrap around the post to hopefully increase the angle.
Has anyone considered this and if so what tuners would be recommended???
Thanks

I hold my tuners to the side of the headstock as I'm doing layout, and eyeball what to do next using the "whatever" tuners I have on hand.
This one looks easy to get a better break angle, add a veneer of wood to the back of the headstock to lower the tuners.
If it bothers you then see if a set of ukulele tuners usually have shorter shafts.
Unfortunately there is no set standard but if you search for ukulele machine head sealed on ebay you should get virtually identical tuners to the ones you have on there but just have a shorter shaft.
