I've built and sold a few CBGs now but I kept my first one to use as a test rat..lol...I'm always modifying it. Here is the problem..I had a 27mm piezo disc in it and it sounded great acoustic and decent plugged in. I installed a tele neck magnetic pick up in the box lid. This required me to all but notch the neck near into to make room for the pick up. I braced the neck on the inside of the box for support and it sounds great now plugged in....But I ruined the acoustic sound by doing this...lol...I know what happened....The bracing I used is in between the neck and the bottom of the box dividing the box into two sections and the 1 1/4 sound hole is the top section. This decreased the top of the box sound hole area to about 2X9...lol....to small for good sound. I got the normal hum but it sounds sweet plugged in. I guess I could drill a sound hole in the bottom section. Has this happened to anybody else?
