My first build was a one string electric cigar box bass, but I didn't take pics. The Howler is a Delta Grooves neck, a big ole' Undercrown box, and the best parts from my parts bin.

Build pics, because I have some of this...

On the suggestion of DD from Delta Grooves, I routed the inside lid of the box. Awesome if you have a router, but I'm building in my apartment and use a dremel. That took a while.

One Fender Texas Special, two 500k pots, an Orange Drop cap and a Switchcraft jack. Didn't like the Texas Special as a guitar neck pickup, but it's a pretty sweet bridge cigar box pickup. Just enough to drive fuzz or OD pedals well, then instant gritty roll off w/ the volume.

Bridge sanded reasonable low, ready to rock. Has been crazy fun to play the last couple weeks. Top pic is the bass I made before this guitar...

  • Very nice builds. Like how you did the single tuner on the bass.

  • Both! I am a lefty, but play right handed guitars. And the guitar has a reverse headstock.

    Not a very busy forum?

  • looks good. are you left handed?

    •  Reverse Headstock ? .
