Man oh man, I had a good time! Kinda spoiled living just down the street in Horn Lake, MS - I go to Clarksdale all the time, but the Sunflower blues fest only comes once a year & it was crazy good this time around!!
Got a great video, some of the pics are really good and some are, well....
Super Chikan and the Fighting Cocks
Cedell Davis
Leo "Bud" Welch - Love this guy - he always tears it up when he hits the stage. He's 82 and still melts the strings.

AWESOM! The history of the place alone makes me want to get there.
Yeah, it's alot of fun. Goin' back this weekend :-)
Awesome vid and pics Mojoatomic! Thanks for sharing. Looks like there was a great crowd there too!
It really was a pretty good crowd, and they stayed late into the night.
It's weird that the Sunflower fest doesn't get more press than it does... it where the blues began :-) The crossroads that everyone sings about are around the corner from this stage and and every Delta bluesman who ever was came through here on the train, by car on on foot.
Robert Johnson's song "Love in Vain" where he says "And I followed her to the station, with her suitcase in my hand," is right, and I mean right behind and in the view of this stage.
You could smell the ribs cooking on the front porch of Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero Blues club, and half of the players left the stage after their sets and went to Red's around the corner and absolutely tore it up until the wee hours.
Ryan Perry and the Homemade Jamz Blues Band - watch out for this brother's and sister Trio - they are incredible.
