I just finished a build, but have a problem. I tried a 24" scale instead of my usual 25.5. No matter what I do, I cannot get the guitar to sound right. Strings to tight, to loose, different guage ???? Never gets right. Intonation is perfect on all frets, a bit less than 2mm at the 14 fret. no buzzing anywhere. If I tune it up to an open A or C, it's much better. But it's for my daughter to learn on and everyone on you tube is in GDG. Can anyone help ??

I have built quite a few 24" fretted 3 string guitars. The key with the shorter scale is to use heavier strings.
I use Darco Jazz D9100 Jazz Guitar Strings. For GDG tuning the gauges are .024, .032, and .042. The high G is a wound string.
This combination of scale length and string gauges works perfectly for me.
Might be worth a shot to try it.
