I have a cigar box my son wants to use to rest his foot on while playing his guitar. I wondering if I put a pizzo in it, will it work as a stomp box also? I don't want to make a bigger project out of it, but have the parts to accomplish this much. Will it work or is it a waste of time and effort?

That was the first thing I built. I put the piezo on the underside of the lid. I play bass and had a spare bass amp so I put it thru there. I also had a Behringer Preamp booster pedal. It was thunderous. my only issue was the box liked to travel across the floor so I cut a piece of rubber shelf liner stuff to put between the box and the floor so it wouldnt move. When I was playing a duo thing with a guitar player and me on bass, the stomp box really filled it out. good luck!
You can also use an old speaker! Just fix it to the lid, sounder facing the lid and add a jack plug. Plug it into an old amp and you have a real bassy foot drum.
I've done this on a few steels, so they cascade, effectively becoming a multi neck steel
OK - I just want to get this right...cause this sounds like fun -
Build the stomp box with an input jack, and that runs thru to the output jack then a volume control on the piezo as that runs thru to the output? I've been wanting to build one of these and figured I'd need an ABY thingy but this is better.
Good luck and show us the result.
Thanks for the reply. Where is the best place to put the pizzo, inside bottom of the box or the underside of the top?
Thank you, sir.
