I uploaded some pictures last week that came up on the site squashed looking, but looked normal when you hit the "view full size" tab. I thought at first it might have been the settings on my camera, but it seems it's been happening to other people's pictures as well.
I'm not a real techie so I don't know what the problem is, but I just edited mine in the picture editor, saved them, and uploaded the edited versions, which came out normal looking
