Heads up, guys. I'm selling a four string guitar that I just finished recently.See my website (http://smokehouseguitars.com/blognewsroll/?p=3239) for details. Price is listed on the right side of the page under "For Sale Right Now".
This is a pretty nice one. The guitar is a true solid body; the box is filled with a solid block of poplar for some truly hellacious sustain.
Everything on this guitar but the tuners is handmade. The pickups are custom Bob Harrison's. They've been reverse-wound such that they are noise cancelling (giant humbucker) when both are selected. Even when only one is selected there is very little interference noise due to Bob's incredible craftsmanship. The pickups are accessed from the back of the body.
All plates on the guitar are handmade from a piece of cocobolo rosewood. The bridge is also cocobolo. The nut and saddle are buffalo bone. Tuners and strap buttons are gold.
The neck is my characteristic red oak/poplar affair. Frets are Nickel/Silver mediums set to a 610 mm scale and the neck itself is radiused at 16". The finish is a French Polish in light blonde shellac.
The action on this guitar is rather fine for faster playing. If you want it higher I can send it to you with an additional saddle that you can swap in for slide playing. You can play it as it is with a slide but I'd recommend a light touch and a glass slide.
I had initially built this guitar to auction off for charity but do to my work schedule and the concert season ending I wasn't able to make this happen so now I'd just like to find this one a loving home.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
