Hi, still gathering parts for my first build, and NOT being a musician I will have to ask some noob questions.
Now, I've been watching the great Justin Johnson unpack one of his signature shovels and I noticed it's made using a Blue Hwak shovel/spade.
These things are unobtainable in the UK, but my OCD needs me to make one of very, very similar size and proportion, so some things I need to know are:
1) how long is the neck from top of handle to insertion into spade head?
2) what roughly is handle diameter?
3) what are the dimensions of the head of the spade?
Anyone with any ideas or links to such info please send my way.
Many thanks, Lol (Laurence).

Hi, I think I got it wrong with my build Ha Ha.
Here’s another one about shovel guitar building tips:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YIF44Jj3gK8
cheers for that I'll look later. mine's going to be fretless so allowing space for so many frets isn;t going to be an issue regarding neck length.
Any shovel will work, it’s all about what scale length you wanna use? But if you must, he’s using a 20” model- 20” is the length of the handle, 1.5” is the diameter of the handle? Doesn’t seem like the spade size is a determining factor? Good luck on this, maybe this video will help?
