  • nice 1 Jawbone...  I've covered up a number of oopsies with a saw by making them decorative...

BTW: For these tuners, CB Gitty has a pretty good price, and ships quick.... I'm about done with Fleabay as the good deals are basically junk anymore...

and no, he didn't pay me to write that... :-)

  • Here's what I would do (now, this is just me)
I would take them out - drill new holes so the tuners are right way round - then drill more holes in a decorative pattern to blend in with the wrong holes, plug them with contrasting wood and voila - nobody knows but you, well, and us but we won't tell.  :-)

    •  Mmmm if I take them out and put them the right way that will be 1 tuner on top and 2 underneath  not to keen on that look

      • This is a pretty simple fix as suggested by David L. yesterday.

        1. Take one of the two tuners from the top and disassemble it.
        2. Reassemble it to match the tuner at the bottom of your photo.
        3. Place tuners in the proper orientation, "gears toward box".
        4. Problem solved.

        •  I did it yesterday .

          •  Trouble is I've payed double what you pay for them so I want them right

            • For my part, I apologize for presuming you wanted to finish this build without having to wait for another set of tuners to arrive.

              • OK - Now I'm all mixed up - Did the Kid rework the original tuners or did he buy new correct ones????  Inquiring minds need to know!!!! Was he playing "3 card Monty"???

                •  Now you it now you don't , it's the same original tuners , I ones I got ( I hope this right ) were 2L 1 R so I took a Left apart and changed it round so now I have 2R 1L , look at my second pic and you'll see , I'm tuning this GDg so the tuner for the D string is the one that's been changed round , hope this clear if not i'll try and add text to the pic .

                  • @ jawbone

LOL just repeat "upside down and backwards" when cutting crown and it's no problem...that or use the cheater blocks and square cuts.
