I have routed a couple pup cavities with plexi route templates, and have noticed that the bit, even with it's bearing, is marring the edge of the template. Antone know why that might be? The bearing spins freely and the set screws are ok.

Hi, I would not be concerned with any maring it's to be expected when two different materials are rubbed together. My guess is that the hard bearing is burnishing the softer plexi. So long as the shape and size is not changing I reckon all is good.

OK. Right now any changes can be handled on the wood with sandpaper.
All my bits are top bearing (except a large rabbet), and this is being done with a hand router.
is the bearing above or below the cutter on the bit?
