Hi all I just got started on my first CBG and as I like to think outside of the box, I look for different ways of doing things. I got to thinking of using brass lamp rod with a rod piezo for the pickup has anyone tried this or if not any reason not to try it. I'm thinking epoxying the piezo inside the lamp rod.

I tried a hollow brass tube with the rod inside held by very dense plaster cement. It was a total failure. I did have good success by drilling a 1/8 ' hole down the centre of a threaded brass rod. You may also consider using a piezo cable. It can be bought by the inch and requires a little soldering
A rod piezo is designed to be seated under the bridge saddle. It needs to be squeezed down by the strings to be fully effective. Epoxying it in a tube will just deaden it.
