I liberated a broken acoustic from the garbage. the body is shot, so i was thinking of keeping the neck and making a whole new body out of sheetmetal. Any tips for sizes to make a box for the body?

Thanks for the link! i might have some oil cans in my mom's shed. I was going to use a groovy looking metal box my wife had but the box isnt big enough to use as a replacement body to keep scale length the same as the original wooden body. i have access to a box pan brake so making a box from scratch isnt a big deal.
Will, Here's my suggestion, check out oil can guitars. This link shows how the neck and pickups can be done. Also do a google search for oil can guitars pretty cool stuff out there.

I do like the machine look of these, also I'll have to see if I can find a link to one of my metal top guitars.

Will, You might notice the fingerboard stops at the edge of the can so the scale length will be correct. Anyways, have fun.
