Has anyone ever tried building a diddly bow but using a single coil pickup, and turning the picking 90 degrees so that the string goes over every pole in the pickup? I'm thinking of trying it, and it could either sound insanely awesome, or more likely, be buzzy as hell and feed back too much. Any thoughts?

yup , works fine . no real difference except a bit fuller tone .
does a 6 string buzz like crazy and feedback when you strum all 6 strings ? ;-)
