I'm building CBG No. 2, and the box is pretty plain, with no decals, and of unfinished mahogany (? ) plywood. The neck is just Home Depot 1X2 oak that I planned to seal with Watco. But I am thinking I might throw a contrasting tone of Watco on the cigar box itself to protect, toughen and add interest. Anyone else done this?

The Superglue adheres over the vegetable oil?
2 coats of danish, light sanding then 2 further coats of tru-oil.Hard and durable finish.
I do it a lot. Ya can look at my pics of Chantilly and Splinter pig to see two of my recent builds using watco danish oil on the box and in the case of Chantilly, I also use water based gloss poly over it.
Splinter Pig is beyond awesome.
Always. I use TruOil or stain then TruOil. It makes box art pop, covers scratches and dings, and makes it less susceptible to moisture.
