So, most of us have had a hell of a time soldering to the back of a pot (without melting it down) at one point or another...
I was working on a license plate build, when i realized that I didn't need to do that! It was awesome! (OK, I have a soldering station now, and soldering pots is a piece of cake... BUT - There are easier ways!
One option is to use Aluminum Duct Tape: No, not the stuff that has a light side, a dark side, and holds the universe together... that stuff is USELESS on ducting... I'm talking about the aluminum stuff, with some really agressive adhesive on the other side. Aluminum is a fantastic conductor!
Here's a pic of a build from last Christmas:
Now I still had to solder the Cap to the pot, and in this case I installed a treble bleed, so there was some pot soldering... But this is one way to ground your stuff without much effort. I wonder if that ground area, though not completely surrounding the electronics had any shielding effect...
Anyway, this worked for me...
