While experimenting with my guitar I could not find a plectrum, so I grabbed whatever I could find at that moment and it was a knitter's stitch marker as in this picture:
I grabbed the stitch marker by the more narrow end (where it can open) and use the wider end against the strings. O boy, what a sound! Those stitch markers sounded so much better than any plectrum I had used earlier, but they are a bit uncomfortable to hold.
And now my question: is there any ready made plectrum that is made out of a springy piece of metal wire? I would want to get a such one. I can imagine that it would not be impossible to make one by having a wooden "handle" and then the springy wire attached.

I think what you’re trying to copy is a Mizrab?

Taff
That pick sounds terrible! :o
Hi, yes different picks offer different tones from a guitar as well a playability.
What I would do is pool some two part epoxy on a piece of plastic, mix it into the shape you prefer and sit one end of the wire thingy in it until it goes hard, then shape to your preferred thickness.
You have enough there to sell wholesale.
Merry Christmas Taff.
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too!
